UK Trade & Investment has launched the Tech City Investment Organisation (TCIO) to drive forward the government’s ambition to transform London’s east end into a leading technology hub.

The TCIO is made up of a team of experienced entrepreneurs dedicated to helping early stage entrepreneurs and innovative companies to  set up in East London.

ustwo™ hosted the inaugural meeting of UKTI’s Tech City team at its London studio. Earlier in the day ustwo™ participated in a breakfast panel at Tech Hub in Shoreditch with Minister for Trade & Investment Lord Green and leaders in the UK tech scene.

Lord Green said: “It was great to meet with budding entrepreneurs like digital design studio ustwo™, as well as large-scale technology incubators around Old Street and Shoreditch today.”

ustwo™ has recently featured in three different video spots for online news and info sites CNBC, TelecomTV/Forbes and BigAmbition.

The first two pieces center around the same premise – the rise of London’s East End as a technology world leader. CNBC reports that apps are increasingly becoming a popular choice for venture capital investments in an industry tipped to be worth 17 billion dollars by 2013. In their feature, entitled Planet of the Apps, mills discusses the future of ustwo™ and says, “It’s never going to stop, we’re just at the beginning”!

ustwo™ London has just moved from its Bateman’s Row premises to a vast 8,616 sq ft space in the Tea Building, London E1.

Now with a 55 strong team in London alone, this spacious new studio will allow us to continue growing, taking on more designers and developers and making dreams a reality!

We’ve just announced the release of N*E*R*D’s Granimator™ artist pack to promote the band’s new album “Nothing”.
